All-New 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee
It can sometimes seem that two-row SUVs are a dime a dozen in today's market, but you can always rely on Jeep to produce a model that stands out from the crowd. The Grand Cherokee range was recently expanded with the addition of the three-row L model, built around a completely new platform and with many extra invaluable features.
And the good news for compact SUV fans is that all these enhancements are now available on the regular two-row version, making the 2022 Grand Cherokee an even better choice than before. Here are the key highlights you can expect from a test drive at Rainbow Chrysler.
Choose from Gas or Hybrid Powertrains
There's a wide range of powertrains available in the 2022 Grand Cherokee, with outputs to suit every driving need. If you want a traditional gas-powered SUV then there are two options available.
The range starts with Jeep's standard 3.6L V6 engine making a healthy 293 horsepower and 260lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive to complete the powertrain.
But if you really want to develop the Grand Cherokee's off-road capabilities, then moving up to the 5.7L Hemi V8 will bring you a mammoth 357 horsepower and 390lb-ft. This option delivers exceptional trail performance as well as a towing capacity reaching up to 3,273kg.
To complete the powertrain lineup there's an all-new hybrid available which couples a 2.0L turbo gas engine with a pair of electric motors, creaing a combined output of 375 horsepower and 470lb-ft. This hybrid model is not only the most powerful in the Grand Cherokee lineup, but it's also currently the most powerful compact SUV hybrid from any automaker.
Upgraded Interior
There's no denying that the interior of previous Grand Cherokee models was starting to show its age. Thankfully, all that's changed with the 2022 update. The dashboard has been redesigned with a clearer layout, and new optional luxuries include quilted leather seating, heated seats in both rows, and even a massager function for the driver and front-seat passenger.
Advanced Infotainment Technology
The infotainment technology section has also received huge enhancements over previous model years. The entry-level touchscreen display is an 8.4" model, quickly rising to a 10.1" unit on higher trims. Wireless versions of both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide simple, seamless smartphone integration, while optional upgrades include in-built navigation, a fully digital instrument display cluster, a 10.1" head-up display, and a second 10.3" touchscreen set aside for the front passenger to use.
Safety and Driver Assist Systems
And to complete the high-tech theme, all models of the 2022 Grand Cherokee are fitted with a slew of advanced safety systems. Standard and available highlights include forward collision warnings, emergency braking, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.
