2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan | Prince Rupert

Up until this year, the Grand Caravan was sold under the Dodge brand and was a firm favourite in the Canadian minivan market. For 2021, the model has been completely redesigned, and now bears the badge of sister company Chrysler. Here are the key highlights of the 2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan, which are sure to secure its place ahead of the competition.

New Features

The 2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan is a new model, completely overhauled from the previous version sold under the Dodge brand. However, many features will be familiar from Chrysler's Pacifica range, which shares much of the engineering and underlying design.

Streamlined Design

Although the Grand Caravan is aimed at the minivan market, it takes plenty of style tips from the three-row SUV format. In particular, the low, swept-back front end gives a highly streamlined feel for a car of this size, while the chunky rear ensures there's plenty of cargo space available behind the seven seats.

Powerful Performance

There's a single, powerful engine option for all models in the 2021 Grand Caravan lineup. A 3.6L V6 gasoline mill makes a healthy 287 horsepower, and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. All this power translates into some great performance figures, with the Grand Caravan speeding from 0-100kmh in just a little over seven seconds.

Infotainment and Technology

Infotainment is a hugely important aspect of a family car, and the Grand Caravan doesn't disappoint. The standard 7" touchscreen gives easy access to all the main entertainment and comfort features, and is equipped with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for full smartphone integration. The infotainment screen is backed up by a second 3.5" display dedicated to essential driving and safety information.
An excellent family-friendly feature is provided by the available fold-away DVD screen placed above the second row, making it easy to keep younger passengers quietly entertained on longer journeys.

Advanced Active Safety

The physical ruggedness of the Grand Caravan has earned it a full five-star rating in crash tests by the NHTSA, and safety is enhanced even further by a range of available active systems, including:

  • Blind spot monitoring.

  • Rear cross-traffic alerts.

  • Rear automatic emergency braking.

  • Rear parking sensors.
